Dying of thirst

Have you ever found yourself saying, "I'm dying of thirst"?

I know I have but I'd bet that you didn't actually mean it. You were not, to be accurate, dying due to thirst. No mater how much it felt like it at the time (and I know it does).

If you are anything at all like me then you spend maybe as much as thirty seconds a year thinking about water. After all ti is everywhere we go and bacuse it is so common we filter it out.

For example: When I'm thirsty thirsty I walk to the water cooler or, if I'm out, pop intoa shop and grab a bottle. At home you and I flip a handle or push a button or turn a tap. First thing in the morning (or last thing at night, or any other time we feel like it) we jump under the shower. When the lawn wants freshening up, when we cook, when we use the loo - water's just there for the taking, wasting and using.

But for far too many people on the planet it is not like that. Unlike us there are those that walk for miles every day to collect dirty water that makes them ill all because we never think about water.

Did you know that 80% of all diseases in the world are caused by unsafe drinking water and lack of sanitation. That's 4 out of 5!

Recently I learned that only $20 can give someone clean, safe water for two decades. How about that, pocket money could change someone's life.

My goal is to raise just $5,000 (Roughly £3000) to build wells in developing nations. I am doing this in conjunction with charity: water because they spend 100% of the money I raise directly on the water projects. Even better, when projects are complete, every dollar is tied to village and all the wells are posted on Google Earth.

I've never actually been dying of thirst. And if you're like me, you'd like to see a world where no one does.

Together, we can make a dent in the global water crisis. I hope you'll consider helping.
