Forex news goes social
I was looking for Forex news sites to compile a list of great Forex news sites. (Simples).
What I found was the sites that I had normally looked at and one that I did not expect. As a social media guy this site excited me just a little more than normal. As it has a Digg/Readit style social element to it but for the forex community niche.
Woo-hoo!
The site is called FreshPips and it is user voted content. Which means that the well reported news shows up and the crapola and filler news does not make it.
I like that.
Update I just found Another one! These things are like buses.
Beard vs Scissors
It's Beard vs Scissors in the ultimate fund raising contest

You get to vote with your donation to the nominated charity. Does my beard stay or go - and will it be taken by your hand?
The contest has been taken to a whole new level now that facebook has got involved. You can "fan" or "like" a page to show your support for one outcome or the other.
Blogging Corporately
One of the things I have been doing as a developer is to help set up the Australian Branch with a news system that they can use to provide industry news relevant to both the subject of Forex trading and Australia.
Of course one can not expect people to instantly be able to use any new system so I have also been supporting the Australian team by providing a little content and setting up some training time. Which is easier said than done when both offices are in use at the same time for such a short amount of time.
Of course researching news half the world away is also an interesting challenge too.
The first three tips.

So leading by example we have the first three tips:
Always set a stoploss ideally at no more than 1% of your total stake. That way you control your losses. Tweeted by @K2A Guy
Never trade with money that you cannot afford to loose. Even if this means a smaller account and a longer start. Tweeted by @K2A Guy
Make smaller, more controlled trades while you are learning the ropes. Then your mistakes are less expensive. Tweeted by @K2A Guy
That leaves 137 left.
Trader makes £22,750 in 6 mins trading
I found this video on the company youtube.com channel recently. Two trades are placed and... Bop! They are £22,750 up in less time than it takes to drink a mug of tea.
If ever there was a reason to want to understand enough to trade - this might be it.
Bet on me
I'm challenging people to bet on me.
Over a week ago I set this up and there is less than a month left to get in on the action. Will my twitter account grow to 500 followers by the end of August?
To bet Click Here.
Betable is a social betting site. Create wild bet topics and bet with your mates, rivals and family. I've seen bets going on as to who will win a local election, how long a bloke can sleep for and what level a leading stock index will be at on a given day. Tech crunch called it the Twitter for betting (read that here).
Would you bet on me?
TechCrunch recently reported that Betable, (a site where users can bet on anything), secured three million US dollars in the form of a nice tasty venture capital investment. This is in order to progress its efforts to become a "Twitter for gambling".

Betable is the first place where you can bet with friends, family, colleagues and others on anything that interests you. With thousands of bets to choose from in our betting marketplace and the ability to create your own bets, you'll never run out of exciting things to bet on. What's more, Betable lets you invite your friends and the greater betting community to bet with you so you can share the excitement and have some friendly competition.
So quite aside from teh fact that some heavy investment makes betable one to watch for an IPO it also means that it is likely to be a fun place to play with a spare tenner. So to raise the profile of my campaign to raise US$5,000 towards drinking water I have set up a bet. There is currently GB£15 riding "in the pot" with an 11:4 ratio in favour of my being able to raise the money.
Find me on twitter
Do you twitter?
Twitter is a social website that (if you have been living under a rock for a few years) can be used to send out tweets... that's not very helpful is it?
Anyway if I have failed to confuse you then you probably "get twitter" and so can follow me (I'll try to follow you back). On twitter I am @K2AGuy. I'll see you there.
